Inside Out

This week I have noticed my inner child wanting to come out a lot more. As part of my homework for the week, I was told to watch the kids movie “Inside Out,” With having seen it before, I gladly watched it again with my two children, however this time I had a whole new perspective. Whoever the writer is, is brilliant! The emotions in our head control our destiny. I realized from this movie, ‘happiness’ is the emotion that is always holding all the other emotions together. Like anger, disgust and fear. The ora around happiness’s character is so bright she glows. This is the case in real life. When people are happy they are glowing with bright energy. This movie teaches you how to get through your emotions, but to focus on happiness, because when you have that so many more good things will come naturally. There is a huge learning curve in this movie, that I actually pointed out to my kids that is, when you lie for the first time it’s just a chain reaction of all bad things to come. Once you lie and train your brain to think in that mischievous way everything around you becomes harmed. Your emotions, your relationships, your values, your trust with yourself, others trusting you. I hope I can instill that in my children’s head that no matter what happens you will always tell the truth! No lie is worth breaking that bond you hold to yourself to be honest. I love how the movie portrays in the end, that it’s okay to feel sad, mad or fearful, but you pick up and find a way to be happy again. It’s so true with everything we do in life. Whether it’s in a relationship, a career, a child, you always have emotions flowing through your body and most the time a mix of them. As long as we can pause and acknowledge those feelings then remember to stay true to yourself and find what it is that truly makes you happy, you can get through anything! And yes I know, finding what it is that really makes you happy is hard sometimes, you have to dig deep and take your own journey to find out what that is, but once you do happiness just come flooding in. I’m still working on finding what it is that truly, truly makes me happy, but I have found those bread crumbs left for me and I have been taking them! And boy can I tell you, happiness just comes my way. It’s such a good feeling to have and I hope everyone can find that at some point in their life. It’s never too late! Take your own journey, yes you will have to put in work and get through things you’ve probably been pushing off for years, but it’s worth it! Trust me! Go find that inner child and go do something that make YOU happy. Let your emotions flow in and out, but focus on your happiness. I highly recommend watching this movie, even if you don’t have kids. It will teach you a lot and give you some good laughs and maybe some cries as well! Enjoy!
